<br />
Hello everyone, this is Jake Hans, and like many of you, I have been here since day one. For all the newcomers this month, welcome. <b>To fill you in, Mega Man Legends 3 was in development for most of 2011. Capcom actively solicited and accepted fan input on capcom-unity.com/devroom. Approximately 4,000 people took part in the western Devroom. </b>One of Capcom's events actually asked the members of the Devroom to come up with ways to promote the project, but no strong direction emerged. Prospects looked bright as Capcom was planning to release a Prototype to gauge the market for the ten-year-old title. Why not let the product prove itself on the market instead of gauging interest by the number of Legends fans that follow gaming news online?<br />
<br />
<b>In the end, the game was cancelled, and the fans took it upon themselves to expand the fanbase visually.</b> Of course there have been bumps along the way, but overall we have been very successful. This month in particular has been very strong.<br />
<br />
So many are wondering, what happens when we hit 100,000 likes on Facebook? Currently, only we control what happens outside of Capcom. There is a plan in place to release interesting material that will make a Capcom response on whether the Prototype will ever be released highly probable. Right now,<a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/ask_capcom/go/thread/view/7371/29018895/Will_Capcom_respond_to_GetMeOffTheMoon_reaching_100,000_fans_in_the_future">there is a push to get Capcom to comment on whether they will respond to us at 100,000</a>.<br />

<br />
In the meantime, current revival efforts are focused on a variety of areas to increase the visibility of the fanbase.<br />

<br />
The first campaign that kicked the movement off was a push to get numbers in the original Devroom, which is still open. The more Servbots exist, the better the fanbase looks. While the game was in development, Capcom made an outright effort to push for 10,000 fans by the end of March 2011. Legends fans reached the goal one month early. While there is no magic number that will bring the game back, <a href="http://getmeoffthemoon.blogspot.com/2011/07/become-servbot.html">please consider following these instructions to bolster our numbers</a>.<br />

<br />
Finally, our biggest focus is the community. By 'community,' we mean you. Please be aware that no permission slip is needed to help the Mega Man Legends 3 revival effort. I, Jake Hans, was not personally involved with the creation of GetMeOffTheMoon. I networked with as many Legends fans during our initial explosion of likes, and many of us are now close friends. If you want to make a difference, get to know the people around you, create your own projects together, and make sure you are having fun. That is truly what this has been about. Together we fight! Legends Never DIE! Now, I leave you with my good friend David.<br />
<br />
Thanks, Jake. For those of you not in the know, Jake Hans is the <strike>former</strike> leader of our International Strategies Team. He laid the groundwork to get our international projects started and so much more. But he also put together all star awesome international team that we couldn't have gotten so far without. We're doing great so far, keep it up!<br />
<br />
We can't be happier with how the weapons contest is going, too! We're wowed with all of the submissions that we've gotten! Keep up the great work! <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/go/browse/groups">Plus, the Devroom is less than 800 members away from overtaking the Lost Planet group on capcom-unity!</a><br />

<b>Keiji Inafune has again stated his desire to develop new Mega Man games in collaboration with Capcom in the future.</b><br />

"GameSpot: What do you think of the way Capcom has handled Mega Man lately?<br />
<br />
Keiji Inafune: [Laughs] I have to be careful with the Capcom questions. I probably feel the same way as all the Mega Man fans. All I can say is I hope to see the new Mega Man because I've left a lot of people with my DNA [at Capcom]. But if they can't, I'm always open if Capcom asks us to be the developer. We'd take it."<br />

<br />
Hello everyone, this is Jake Hans from International Strategies. In this time of rebuilding, I come with two interesting bits of news to report. First, Keiji Inafune hosted a presentation at the Game Developer's Conference in San Franscisco, California. Thanks to Game Watch Impress's full transcript of Inafune's speech, we are able to provide a complete translation for the part where he mentions Mega Man Legends.<br />
<br />
Source: <a href="http://game.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/20120308_517329.html">Game Watch Impress</a><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
"Today, Japan is too self-indulgent. Once something comes easily for a developer in this industry, that developer doesn't even want to risk having setbacks again. I, too, have felt like that before, back when I was at Capcom, just after I began my career as a producer. This was more than 15 years ago. I got to participate in the production of "Mega Man Legends", which at the time was a new 3D Mega Man series for the Sony PlayStation. However, working as producer was quite tough. Although the Mega Man franchise itself had released lots of titles by that point, sales were in a decline. Because of that, the fans and Sony weren't expecting a new Mega Man series. Hardly anybody even asked us for an interview, so I thought I'd have to work hard to sell this as a producer. However, it wasn't that easy and the game's sales turned out miserably. Now lots of Mega Man fans are talking about Legends, but it wasn't like that at that time. This experience is both my biggest failure and biggest treasure in my video game career."<br />
<br />
<img src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/427520_266172790123636_149316248475958_571596_313642993_n.jpg" /><br />
<br />
The second bit of news is a revelation (credit: <a href="http://twitpic.com/8swsm4&lt">Protodude</a>) that the Mega Man Legends Prototype was submitted to and approved for distribution on the market by CERO, a public Japanese rating organization. This suggests the decision to cancel the Prototype was made with a major formal requirement completed. <br />

We have certainly come a very long way since this Facebook page first got started. We gained the attention of the gaming media, attended New York Comic Con, discovered that <a href="http://www.gamesradar.com/exclusive-only-journalist-ever-play-mega-man-legends-3/">someone really did play the Legends 3 Prototype</a>, and witnessed the introduction of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/27/street-fighter-x-tekkens-mega-man-has-inafunes-blessing/">Bad Box Art Mega Man in Street Fighter X Tekken</a>. Truly, much has occurred, and spirits have risen and fallen over the course of events.<br />
<br />
With all said, however, it certainly has been a very long time since our last Wrap-Up, which is due to two factors. The first is the lack of news to report in general over the past two months or so. The second is that much behind the scenes planning has occurred--which is something for which we do apologize. Normally we like to be as transparent as possible, but we have a very big announcement, and finally YOU get the chance to get involved.<br />
<br />
Participation was the point of the <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/devroom/">Devroom</a>. It was central to the Mega Man Legends 3 Project to begin with, after all. Therefore, if you haven't <a href="http://getmeoffthemoon.blogspot.com/2011/07/become-servbot.html">become a Servbot</a> yet, do so right now, or else you won't be able to take part in our brand new campaign, which I now present to you without further ado:<br />

<br />
Contest judges will be announced soon.<br />
<br />
That's right, GetMeOffTheMoon is hosting its own creative event in the DevRoom, and it's finally time for you to take part, get creative, submit your ideas, and offer feedback to others. What weapon will you design? It's your chance to decide what Mega Man Volnutt will wear on his arm, what he will use to defeat Reaverbots. Perhaps, when we finally convince Capcom to revive the project, your idea will appear in the game. You never know!<br />
<br />
We wanted the contest to be international, but we had to limit is to the US, UK, and Canada due to difference in contest law among nations. We apologize. If you would like to participate but you live outside these regions, you can have someone from one of these three nations enter on your behalf, but make sure that you trust whoever that person is.<br />
<br />
Now that our biggest news is out of the way, we have a few other matters to attend to. A few days ago, Jake Hans announced that <a href="https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=263936980347217">Reika Morishita will work on an official re-arrangement release of her Mega Man Legends songs</a>. If you have any support to give, please comment on the note. All comments will be translated into Japanese and sent to her as feedback.<br />
<br />
Recently, several grassroots movements have gained a ton of ground and made some differences that can hardly be overlooked. Several members of this very Facebook page, for instance, took part in protests against SOPA, PIPA, and ACTA. A website called <a href="http://www.change.org/">Change.org</a> has hosted many successful petitions. Here is one example, quoted from an email that the site sent me:<br />
<blockquote><b>"McDonald's finally responded to the 100,000 people (and groups like the Humane Society of the United States) who told the fast food giant to stop sourcing pork from factory farms using inhumane 'gestation crates,' (cages so small that pigs can’t move or turn around). McDonald's told all of its suppliers yesterday to start phasing out the cages -- an earthquake for the food industry."</b></blockquote>Consider the size of McDonald's as a corporation. Now consider the number of people who convinced them to use less cruel sources for pork production. Does that number sound familiar? Reviving a video game project may not sound as important as this animal rights issue, but consider the power that 100,000 people have.<br />
<br />
With that said, <a href="http://www.change.org/petitions/capcom-release-the-mega-man-legends-3-prototype#">I have created a petition on Change.org devoted to the release of the Mega Man Legends 3 Prototype Version. Now, some of you may see this as redundant with the Facebook page Likes and the </a><a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/devroom/go/thread/view/114725/28033281/SIGN_HERE_TO_SUPPORT_MML3!!!_CAPCOM_KEEP_YOUR_PROMISE">Capcom-Unity Petition</a>, which is actually within Capcom's own website, but Change.org does have its advantages. First of all, the means by which it keeps track of signers is quite streamlined, making the number clear to anyone. Second of all it gives us another avenue to puruse in addition to Facebook and Capcom-Unity, and Capcom WILL notice it--every time somebody signs, an email will be sent to the company's public email address (info@capcom.com). If others have had success through Change.org, perhaps we will as well.<br />
<br />
Next, many of you have been asking about the <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oht2L6tz3bs">ongoing translation of the Japan-only cell phone game Mega Man Legends: Great Adventure on 5 Island</a>, which has been on hiatus for a few months. Rest assured, however, that the project is not dead. Its leadership changed hands and the ongoing work needed to be coordinated. The next episode will be posted soon.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://ocremix.org/">Overclocked ReMix (OC ReMix)</a> recently announced that they will soon release a Mega Man X themed album entitled <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=QOKKaix_4LY">Mega Man X: Maverick Rising</a>. Remember, fan works most certainly count as support for Mega Man, so be sure to check out OC ReMix's work.<br />
<br />
Lastly, You may or may not have noticed a new tab on the side of the page that says "Welcome." If you click on it now, you'll find our welcome page, which is nearly complete and will soon become the default landing page for all visitors. It contains important links and introduction of our purpose to new members. If you're worried about whether you'll see the wall, though, don't be. You can easily reach it with just one click. (Keep in mind though that at the end of the month Facebook will require all pages, including this one to follow their new Timeline format. David and I are still working out how we will manage that.) And don't forget to email us with any campaign ideas at rockvolnutt@ymail.com!<br />
<br />
That's all for now, everyone. Now start working on those weapons! Legends Never Die!The Twitter Guyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08511212368938393293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1664163288204370141.post-47567589187551856122012-01-27T01:15:00.000-05:002012-01-27T01:15:06.582-05:00Aero's Advice: Respect is KeyInitially, when this page was founded, its creator laid down a very specific ground rule:<br />
<br />
"Please keep the material on this page tasteful, however. Just because we're protesting Capcom's actions, that doesn't mean that we have to be jerks about it."<br />
<br />
It seems, though, that many of you have either forgotten this little statement or just simply haven't bothered to take it to heart. It exists for a reason. If we act like a bunch of whiny jerks who can't be pleased by anything, then the gaming media will see us that way. The behavior of all too many people on this fan page as of late has been absolutely unacceptable. There are a few things that you have to remember if you really want be a part of this fan movement:<br />
<br />
1. Your opinion is not fact. Everyone is allowed to express their own opinions, regardless of whether or not it agrees with yours. Disagreeing with an opinion doesn't make someone a troll, nor does saying that the fan movement isn't going anywhere or isn't going to succeed. Even when people are trolling, don't get riled up over it. Remember <a href="https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=171008672973382">this post about trolling from a while back?</a><br />
<br />
2. It's Capcom, NOT Crapcom. Constantly insulting Capcom will get us nowhere, and, in fact, will actually set us back. Our New York Comic Con team didn't get the attention of Capcom USA representatives by insulting them. They were courteous and the only protests they were engaged in were peaceful. Yes Capcom may have wronged us, but they also hold the key to making things right. The real way to get through to them is to show our support, and trying to bring them down with insults does nothing but make us look bad and hurt our efforts.<br />
<br />
3. People are allowed to like Capcom products. Boycotting Capcom was never a requirement for liking this page. Of course, you are allowed to boycott and encourage others to do so, but some people are excited for Resident Evil Revelations, Street Fighter X Tekken, or Asura's Wrath. The members of this fan page come from a variety of backgrounds and have a variety of tastes. Remember <a href="https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=170556563018593">this post about communicating with members of other fanbases?</a> On that note, insulting members of non-Capcom fanbases is not appreciated either. Some of you have it in your mind that Sonic the Hedgehog fans are all insane. I am a Sonic fan, and I pride myself on not being insane.<br />
<br />
4. Homophobia is not cool. For some reason, many of you consistently use the word "gay" as synonymous with "bad" or insist on insulting Capcom or people you don't like by calling them "faggots." Cut it out. I may be straight, but on behalf of the many homosexuals who support our cause, stop calling anything you don't like gay.<br />
<br />
5. Language. Seriously, this should go without saying. If you don't like something, say "I don't like it." You don't need to drop an F-bomb every other sentence.<br />
<br />
6. Respect the Roll's Wrap-up. The admins provide posts like Roll's Wrap-up to provide you with news of goings-on in the community. If we put something in a wrap-up, then we generally have a good reason to do so. Some of the negative reactions to recent reports give the impression that some people believe that the admins are trying to scam them. In fact, nobody is paying us to do anything. Some of us have even spent a significant amount of money on this page. We have lives and jobs as well, just like most of you do. If you don't hear from us for a while, and/or things are not moving quickly enough, chances are that we're busy, but we always want to keep you as up to date as we can. Just please be reasonable and respectful.<br />
<br />
All things considered, very few people have been banned from this page. However, if you consistently can't get your act together and insist on insulting your fellow fans, you will be banned. Enough is enough. We will never succeed if we can't work together.The Twitter Guyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08511212368938393293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1664163288204370141.post-27903195046553664812012-01-24T17:21:00.000-05:002012-01-24T17:21:29.043-05:00Roll's Wrap-Up 1/24/12: The Importance of The Protomen Movie and the Capcom Unity DevroomGood day 100k, Matt Papa reporting!<br />
<br />
You may be asking yourself why I decided to bundle to these two themes together in this wrap-up. Both of these have been talked about before, sure, but there's a very important point that I want to make perfectly crystal clear.<br />
<br />
<b>CAPCOM IS VERY CLOSELY MONITORING THE PROGRESS OF THESE THINGS</b><br />
<br />
Let me assure you, Capcom is very aware of the Protomen movie, and they are watching its progress more closely than ever. Now, I ask you, good folk of 100,000 Strong, how does it make us as Mega Man fans look when only $173 has been donated to this incredible project? Not good, that's how. These guys are going all in on making this incredible Mega Man based film, and if they are not getting financial support from us, the fans, think of how that makes us Mega Man fans look in Capcom's eyes.<br />
<br />
<b>If there is one thing we do not want Capcom to doubt, it is our devotion to Mega Man</b><br />
<br />
Not only will this film be incredibly AWESOME for Mega Man fans, but the guys creating the film are going OUT OF THEIR WAY to plug and support 100,000 Strong, both online and in the movie itself! Is that really something we, as a collective group want to half-ass our effort on? I think not. Let me reiterate that fact that even donating a single dollar, an amount that anyone reading this very note can spare, DOES in fact make a difference. Whether you are a fan of the Protomen or not, a fan of Classic Mega Man or not, this film will do amazing for ALL Mega Man fans and 100,000 Strong.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.indiegogo.com/TRIAL-Films-The-Will-of-One">The Protomen Movie Donation Page</a><br />
<br />
I encourage you all to donate at least a dollar to the cause. Make our presence both as the 100,000 Strong and as your own individual self known.<br />
<br />
Now, in regards to the Devroom, there is a rather alarming discrepancy between the amount of people who have liked this page and those who have signed up for the Devroom. I'm not one for conspiracy theories, so I'm not going to try to guess why Capcom still has the Devroom page up after the game has be cancelled. Fortunately for us, it is still there, and we need to show them that we haven't forgotten about it, and make it a place that they will NEVER want to get rid of.<br />
<br />
<b>This is Capcom's very own website, and it NEEDS to be more active and have more members</b><br />
<br />
They have direct access to everything there, and we need to be showing them on a daily basis that we are not going anywhere and that we mean business. In addition to our efforts here, the Devroom absolutely needs to receive consistent attention and activity from this amazing fanbase. I know we post reminders about becoming a Servbot and joining the Devroom. We do it for a good reason. Until the numbers are starting to match up between 100,000 Strong and the Devroom, we will continue to do so.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/go/devroom/about">Servbots! To action! Go join that Devroom!</a><br />

<br />
Salutations on behalf of International Strategies! This is Jake Hans with good news on the international front. Last night, I.S. Team Japan succeeded in convincing the administrator of <a href="http://twitter.com/#!One_More_Dash"> One_More_Dash</a> that teaming up with the worldwide fight on our “GetMeOffTheMoon” facebook page was in the best interest of Legends/DASH 3. He subsequently tweeted a link to our facebook page and I.S. Video. While this is excellent news, it is not the end game of Team Japan. UG Matumura, a professional web designer in Japan, is working on an overhaul of <a href="http://jp-na-devroom.com"> jp-na-devroom.com</a> for free. As a refresher, jp-na-devroom.com has detailed instructions to help our friends from Japan join the fight on Facebook and Capcom Unity. Once this overhaul is complete, One_More_Dash will advertise the site on Twitter. On top of this, I.S. has recruited CAP Kobun, a well known Rockman fan in Japan, for assistance. He is also waiting for the completion of the website overhaul which should take 3-7 days. Check the rough sketch of the new Facebook counter below.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/309548_172043892869860_149316248475958_336576_276028166_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="399" width="717" src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/309548_172043892869860_149316248475958_336576_276028166_n.jpg" /></a></div><br />
In addition to our efforts in Japan, I.S. has been hard at work on many other projects.<br />
<br />
Bumper Stickers and Pins: These materials will be available soon and distributed FOR FREE! (donations accepted)<br />
<br />
Rob Man I.S. Support Video: The follow up to the I.S. message to Japan Video is in the works.<br />
<br />
Suzukaze’s Street Fighter Parody Video: The plan is to have Teisel vs. Trigger in a video similar to <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovqYktZQKh0&">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovqYktZQKh0&</a>, which is a very popular form of humor in Japan.<br />
<br />
Thank you everyone for your continued support. International Strategies sees much potential yet to be realized in our movement. The workload may be heavy, but together I am confident that we will be able to harness it. Team Japan members feel we are just one lucky break away from an explosion of Japanese support.<br />
<br />
To good luck moving forward!<br />
<br />
Part 2 by Matt:<br />
<br />
We recently noticed a significant problem with the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/notes/100000-strong-for-bringing-back-mega-man-legends-3/rolls-end-of-august-wrap-up-the-grand-master-plan-for-all-mmldash-fans/169412976466285">previous Wrap-Up</a>. The instructions for sending our email to the second Japanese site (the one in Step 3) and Capcom's site (in Step 4) did not say which button to click in order to confirm sending your letter. Please check the images that we have added in order to make sure that you actually sent the letter.<br />
<br />
As Jake stated, Japan is getting ready to formally join us. However, the fact that <a href="http://twitter.com/#!One_More_Dash">One_More_DASH</a> has pledged support for us doesn't mean that we can rest here in North America. <a href="http://getmeoffthemoon.blogspot.com/2011/07/become-servbot.html">We still need more Servbots!</a> Some people have experienced some trouble lately with regard to problems with their Servbot numbers, such as them disappearing for no reason. We have no explanation for these varied issues at this time, so I would suggest checking Capcom-Unity to make sure that you still have your number. We also still have the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=159747224099527<em> </em>">International Servbot Collaboration</a>, which ends in a few days. And, as I mentioned above, be sure to read last week's wrap-up for our <a href="https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=169412976466285">Grand Master Plan</a>.<br />
<br />
In Capcom related news, <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/snow_infernus/blog/2011/09/06/cap_news_special_reports">some strange videos </a> were posted today, but currently nobody has any idea what they mean. We shouldn't really speculate anything about it. Otherwise, the company did announce <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/snow_infernus/blog/2011/09/02/you_want_this_mega_man_swag">new Mega Man merchandise</a> and <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/snow_infernus/blog/2011/09/06/psn_update_today:_rockman_4">the release of Rockman 4 on PSN</a>. These announcements don't indicate much about the status of our movement, but at least they show that Capcom does still care about Mega Man to some degree.<br />
<br />
With regard to what people have been saying both on our page's wall and Capcom's be sure to read our two most recent Aero's Advice segments: <a href="https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=170556563018593">Cross Genre Fanbase Communications</a> and <a href="https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=171008672973382">Don't Feed the Trolls</a>.<br />
<br />
Before I go, here's a picture of one our International Strategies members, Ryan, campaigning at PAX:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/294355_172049456202637_149316248475958_336586_2138800642_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="398" width="595" src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/294355_172049456202637_149316248475958_336586_2138800642_n.jpg" /></a></div><br />
Now that takes determination. Legends never die!The Twitter Guyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08511212368938393293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1664163288204370141.post-23633865918717855102011-09-06T01:03:00.000-04:002011-09-06T01:03:34.072-04:00Aero's Advice: Don't Feed the TrollsSo for a while, many of the posts and comments on this page have leaned on the negative side, and they usually get an annoyed response out some of the other members. Now, before I go any further in explaining this matter, allow me to show you how troll logic usually works:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/311511_171026906304892_149316248475958_334466_2699569_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="522" width="720" src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/311511_171026906304892_149316248475958_334466_2699569_n.jpg" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
In other words, it seems to make sense in some twistedly logical way until you apply reality to it.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Think of it this way: the individuals who post these negative comments had to click Like on this page in order to post anything in the first place. Really, these individuals just tend to be bored more than anything else, trying to get a rise out of us merely for a laugh. If they were really, truly against us, they wouldn't add to our Like count.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
So what do we to when a troll comes along? Trolls feed on responses of any kind. No matter what you say to prove them wrong, they will still find way to troll you. Therefore, the most effective way to respond is to not respond at all. If the troll gets no response, it will simply get bored and leave. If we show ourselves to be ineffective troll bait, then we'll see fewer trolls and people overall will take us more seriously.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Now, if someone is continuously spamming the Wall regardless of the response they get, posting pornography, or making remarks that are exceptionally offensive (such as making racial slurs) alert the admins at rockvolnutt@ymail.com immediately and we will make sure to ban the disruptive individuals and their content.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Regardless of whether cancellations or trolls stand in our way, we will prevail!The Twitter Guyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08511212368938393293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1664163288204370141.post-67888021311719877252011-09-06T01:02:00.000-04:002011-09-06T01:02:20.055-04:00Aero's Advice: Cross-Genre Fanbase CommunicationsIt has come to the attention of the admins of 100,000 Strong that some of the anger at Capcom's decision to cancel Megaman Legends has been mistakenly misdirected at other fanbase genres. For example, observe the top comment of the International reach out video :<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
"I love Capcom games but lately they seem to be really letting down the fans. Street Fighter 4 RE-RELEASED TWO TIMES ALREADY...Marvel Vs Capcom 3, ten years in the making, will be re-released AGAIN. Dead Rising 2? NUMEROUS online issues with a game that is heavily co-op based. Mega Man Legends 3? Canned.<br />
<br />
Capcom, are you really listening to what your true fans want? From where I stand you seem to have become money grubbers. Until Mega Man Legends 3 is released I refuse to buy your games, done."<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Yes, Capcom's decision to cancel Megaman Legends 3 was based on risk-aversion. Their logic was that a fighter would more likely have a bigger audience than an adventure-RPG title.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The problem here is, how can we reach out to a foreign fanbase if we can not reach out to potential indirect supporters at home? Many Street Fighter fans would support us if we reach out to them. Our movement relies on positive attitudes from all of our members, so remember that we all represent the same cause!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
For instance, here is another comment that appeared on the same video: "I don't like this series. But I joined servbots. It didn't take much time. I recommend it for other Capcom fans and others too. I'm more Street fighter player."<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
At various points of time, fighting game fans have also had their gripes against Capcom. Fans of both Street Fighter and Marvel Vs. Capcom had to wait 10 years for a true sequel not all too long ago. Rival Schools and Darkstalkers fans, in fact, are still waiting for a new entry. As much as many of us dislike Capcom's policies regarding Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, we shouldn't be alienating fans of the series. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Don't, however, criticize others for being fans. Fighting game fans can be our allies. I have played a few online matches of MVC3 myself and discovered that many people like to play as Tron Bonne. Furthermore, Mega Man X is still the most requested character for DLC. The fact that fans like Street Fighter and its various spinoffs doesn't mean that they can't also support our cause.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
We fight together, for Mega Man Legends 3!The Twitter Guyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08511212368938393293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1664163288204370141.post-50585627115955980412011-09-06T01:00:00.001-04:002011-09-06T01:01:39.916-04:00Roll's End of August Wrap-Up: The Grand Master Plan For All MML/DASH FansThis is Matt presenting this wrap-up, but before I say anything, let me say that all our hearts go out to those affected by Hurricane Irene. As a Floridian, I know the strife that hurricanes can cause, but Floridan buildings are meant to withstand such damage. I hope that any of you unfortunate enough to be caught in the storm can get back on your feet as soon as possible.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
As for our movement, we have recruited over 43,000 likes on this page and over 10,000 new Servbots in the Devroom in just a month and a half. Considering the scope of our goal, this is actually an amazing accomplishment, considering the fact that Capcom only managed to recruit 5,000 before the game's cancellation. With that said, we still need more Servbots! Please become one if you haven't already, and encourage others to do the same. In addition, Capcom only graced our hero with one liaison to Japan while we provided the blue guy with more than twenty liaisons from all over the world.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Speaking of international liaisons, I now present this immensely important message from Jake Hans:<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Hello friends and fighters for Mega Man Legends/Rockman DASH 3. This is Jake Hans reporting from International Strategies. By now most of you have likely had the chance to see our message to Japan. Thank you all for the compliments and words of encouragement. All of us at International Strategies really appreciate it!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I am excited to announce that today we are releasing an aggressive offensive strategy to reach our friends in Japan. As a refresher, our problem right now is that the fanbase is split because the population in Japan does not use Facebook. Therefore, the foundation of this strategy will require the combined numbers of everyone who believes that Megaman Legends 3 and Rockman DASH 3 should be brought back to the development table! Team Japan has collaborated on the strategy's action plan which uses our I.S. video to reach the untapped potential of our Japanese brethren.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
We must succeed in spreading our message to the Japanese fanbase through their major news outlets to achieve the best results!<br />
<br />

<br />
Japanese Outreach Action Plan<br />
<br />
Purpose: Combine the 100,000 Strong membership with potential members in Japan<br />
<br />
Goal: Get Japanese gaming news outlets to write about our cause<br />
<br />
Note: Most Japanese companies use online form mail instead of e-mail.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Step 1: Copy the JAPANESE version of this prewritten letter.<br />
<br />

The following is an English Version, which has been provided to help you understand what you're sending. Please remember to use the Japanese version!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
A grave injustice has befallen a large group of dedicated gamers, and we are in need of your assistance! As you may already know, Capcom announced last year that the game Rockman DASH 3 was going to be released for the Nintendo 3DS after an indecisive ending to DASH 2 and a decade-long wait. They then opened the “Devroom”, a place for the fans to help develop the game through their ideas, and spent months revealing the development process and holding wonderful events for all to participate in. This all led up to the announcement of a prologue chapter for DASH 3, dubbed the “Prototype Version,” which was to be released to the Nintendo eShop at its launch. Capcom said that the sales of the Prototype would determine the final fate of the game, as it had not yet reached the final approval level.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The fans waited for the release of this prototype, prepared to wholeheartedly support the game that we so love. But mysterious delays kept surfacing, pushing the release date farther and farther back. Slowly, the news and events in the Devroom began to slow down, and then, on July 18th, the announcement was made that the DASH 3 project was canceled.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
In the wake of this massive let-down, surrounded by the shards of broken promises, the ever-loyal fan-base of Rockman has started a campaign to reverse Capcom’s terrible decision. In the short weeks since this event, we have already amassed the support of over 43,000 individuals via the “Get Me Off The Moon” campaign, all of whom are asking Capcom to at least release the Prototype Version for the sake of keeping their promise, earning back their consumers' trust, and allowing the Prototype sales to determine the final fate of this game. We have reached out to countries across the globe and received a great amount of support, even from the game’s lead programmer! However, we still have a long road ahead, and this is the reason that we are contacting you today.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
We are trying to reach the Japanese fanbase in order to unite this global initiative and show Capcom that this game is worth making. We respectfully request that you feature our initiative on your website in the form of a commercial that we have created specifically to close the gap between these two factions of the global fan-base and unify our efforts. It is our belief that this will give us the momentum that we need to reach our 100,000 person goal in support of DASH 3! We are two parts to the same whole, and in unity we can become stronger than either of us could possibly be alone. This service to our cause and the gaming community as a whole would be greatly appreciated, and we are confident that it will result in an undertaking of global proportions the likes of which the video game industry has never seen. We have a great amount of hope, as few initiatives along these lines have ever amassed such support in so short a time, but we are not yet at our goal!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Thank you for your consideration in this matter. We eagerly look forward to any feedback that you may have!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Respectfully,<br />
<br />
The Rockman DASH community<br />

<br />
こんにちは、この投稿文はFacebook上のロックマンDASH3再起動プロジェクト「GetMeOffTheMoon」の参加者皆からのメッセージです。<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
DASH3の問題についてお気を遣って下さったこと、本当にありがとうございます。そして、このメッセージについてのお返事を皆で期待していますね!<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Step 4: Go to https://www.capcom.co.jp/support/form_cs1/ and write a personal letter to them in English. The letter should request Rockman DASH 3 be brought back into production, a link to our Message to Japan, and any other feelings you may have on the cancellation. PLEASE BE CIVIL!!! I CAN"T STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!! Capcom Japan has translators, so your message will be heard.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/311285_169414439799472_149316248475958_330012_5485019_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="582" width="720" src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/311285_169414439799472_149316248475958_330012_5485019_n.jpg" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Optional Step: Let Keiji Inafune know about us! We have his company's e-mail address: info@comcept.co.jp<br />
<br />
Suzukaze, one of our Japanese Liaisons, sent him a very long and personal letter already. Sending this e-mail in English is okay. His company has English translators. Remember to include http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGjy_IY8ePY and http://jp-na-devroom.com/<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Step 5: Tweet the following message in Japanese:<br />
<br />
FacebookのロックマンDASH3再起動プロジェクトからの動画メッセージです。一緒に、ロックマンDASH3を取り戻しましょう!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGjy_IY8ePY #DASH3<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
Once these steps are completed, you will have successfully played a part in helping the Legends/DASH fanbase come together!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Thank you, Legends fans, for standing by us as we press for support in Japan. Rest assured that this is not the final project of International Strategies. Our efforts will continue until Capcom of Japan realizes that their initial marketing efforts failed to harness the power of the Legends fanbase! Sometimes if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself!<br />

<br />
Winning the support of Japan is a matter of reaching out to them. Of course, we have a few other aforementioned ways as well, one of which is to become a follower of One_More_DASH on Twitter. Another is to join in on the International Servbot Collaboration. Also remember that we now have a A promotional video for International Strategies .<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
In other important news, Nintendo 3DS Blog recently published a page that allows you to reach out to one of the few individuals who has actually played the Prototype Version and ask whatever questions that you may have about it. Remember to keep everything civil and focus you questions on gathering information about the Prototype, not bashing Capcom. Information is powerful, and we now have a chance to gather more.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
In one last bit of news, Nathan, one of the members on our page is artistically chronicling the MML3 revival movement, along with Operation Rainfall and others, in the form of an RPG. Check it out if you're interested.<br />

Together, we will all make this happen. Legends Never Die, and this legend will live on!The Twitter Guyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08511212368938393293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1664163288204370141.post-91600807249871611002011-09-06T00:56:00.002-04:002011-09-06T00:56:58.684-04:00The International Strategies Story: A Shared Love and Common GoalThis is Jake Hans again from International Strategies. As you may be aware, our team has been very active in the fight against Capcom’s decision to take away our hero. So many people have worked so hard on the international front that I feel their stories should be heard. Although I may be the official leader, it is the International Team that truly deserves all the credit. Initially the team started off with a small group of individuals shortly after the cancellation. Our first posted team report titled “Team of Twelve” illustrates our beginnings:<br />
<br />
___________________________<br />
<br />
For ten years, we have waited! Capcom put the rug down, and then whipped it out from under us! Now it is our turn. This movement is not about "likes." It is a statement that LEGENDS NEVER DIE! I have had the privilege to talk and get to know you guys. What we have here today is special and transcends geographic barriers.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Now we all have our own special skill sets. Anastasia is an aspiring artist from Russia. We all know Dashe, who has made one of the greatest musical theater spoofs of all time and is an excellent proofreader. Then there's Amunshen, Julien, Mitsurugi, Ghun, and Rocky who can take Anastasia and Dashe's work and make things like http://ameblo.jp/runner97401/ possible!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
We have some of the first members of the group, Tahj and Trigger, who make sure every comment doesn't go unliked and keep us up to date on information. We have Brandon, our Chinese culture consultant, and last but not least is the newest member Jeremy, who is our all around technical guy. We all have done our best to BRING BACK MEGA MAN LEGENDS 3!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
For the sake of organization, I suggest we state our areas of expertise. This will help us become more efficient in our communications and strategy development.<br />
<br />
__________________________________<br />
<br />
From here we grew into a team with the power of real worldwide intercultural knowledge and communication. I have met some very brave people from around the world who simply do not quit no matter what. The best example of this is our Liaison to Portugal: Bruno Reis. For our cause he has posted about us in multiple Portuguese gaming forums despite harsh criticism. Check those out at http://forum.mygames.pt/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=12111 and http://forum.mygames.pt/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=12196.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
He has never lost hope through all of his efforts. I envy his courage. Believe it or not, this is just the tip of the iceberg. All of our members have continued to fight with us while juggling personal priorities. Our motivation is not money. We simply want the game we have waited 10 years for back and we will never take no for an answer.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Our Japanese Liaisons Amunshen, Mitsurugi, Suzukaze, Steve, and UG have been unbelievable! Amunshen took it upon herself to translate the entire International Servbot Collaboration into English (edited by Matt from 100,000 Strong). She has also contributed in so much translation work that our Team Japan would not be able to function without her. Our other liaison, Mitsurugi from England, teaches English to Japanese students in Tokyo and has been instrumental in communicating on Japanese only social networks such as Ameblo and Mixi. Suzukaze, who joined facebook specifically to join 100,000 Strong, has took it upon himself to help us without even understanding English! Steve, a fellow<br />
<br />
University of Oregon student has always been willing to lend a helping hand to our team. UG, our newest member, has been busy making sure jp-na-devroom.com is effective at guiding our friends from Japan to join us on Facebook and in the NA devroom.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
International Strategies, though, has never focused solely on Japan. Every liaison has helped both in strategy and motivation.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Our Liaison to Thailand, Ghun, managed to get our movement on Akitaban which made our “like” count on the Thai page amazingly rival the Japan “like” count.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Vicky Weyens, our Liaison to Belgium, has not only translated "Waiting For Legends 3" in its entirety, but has taken on multiple special projects from me that has allowed our team's speed to increase exponentially.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Sam Voltan, our trilingual English/French/Italian translator, is a professional (paid) translator. However, he is gracious enough to provide his services to us for free!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Ana Perez, our liaison to The Phillipines not only is a gifted artist, she is the one who began our jump into website projects. Check the Tagalog page to see her work for yourself!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Anastisia, our Liaison to Russia, was one of our initial Team of Twelve members. She is a talented young artist who created incredible artwork for our Japanese Ameblo and Mixi accounts!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Speaking of artists, our team has Graphic Designer Rashed Mokdad from Lebanon. He has been so passionate about the revival of Legends 3 that he has claimed that if the Rebels in Libya can win in a year, so can we!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
His partner in crime Hamodi Elsaabi (also from Lebanon) is just as passionate, spreading our International Servbot Collaboration to anyone that will hear!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Our team has been lucky to have the development leader of Project Legends fill in the role of Liaison to Peru. His humor in the group chat has always been well received. He is also very ambitious, ready to take any challenge without hesitation.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Another ambitious member has been Rocky Brillo from The Phillipines. His first declaration to me was “I will spread the word to all Filipinos!” Based on his efforts, it's apparent he wasn't kidding.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Another loud group speaker has been Dǝmǝr Garufi from Malta. I will tell you he is not afraid to say what is on his mind!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Our German Liaison duo Khan Ueskan is a relatively new member, but he has made it clear to me that his drive is all about Legends. The same goes for Marcel Buhlmann, the other German Liaison who has a thesis that “Megaman is cooler than Sonic, enough said."<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Our Spanish liaisons Daniela, Seallux, MegaMan Kuto, and Matsuri Kasugano have really pushed hard for us. See their page’s picture, “¡Sacame de la luna! ¡En español!”<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Finally our Portugal/Brazil Liasons Bruno Reis, Erik, Henrique, and Jose Coelho have been plotting and planning different ways to expand our support on their own accord. To everyone on the I.S. Team Liaison Team, you have all been amazing and I’m proud to fight at your side.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The flip side of the Liaison Team is the Logistical Team of International Strategies. The work done by these individuals has made it possible to make quick and informed strategic decisions.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Our early members Tahj Mitchell, Dashe Troxon, and Jeremy Verlander stepped into the roles of International Coordinators and were major players in building I.S. into what it is today.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Tahj was a natural as a team motivator, problem solver, and expansionist. His passion to bring people together and keep morale high plays a major role in keeping the team moving at a high level.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Next is Dashe Troxon, the fanbase legend behind “Waiting for Legends 3: A Tribute”. I remember we became acquainted by a request I made on the 100,000 strong wall for edits of a draft letter I wrote to all fans of Legends/DASH. Since then she has edited most of my statements for Roll's Wrap-Up. Also, I am convinced her determination to get Legends back are second to none.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Finally, Jeremy Verlander's focus has always been independent projects dealing with spreading the word on an international level. Most recently he has been talking with Legends fans from Iran, Russia and Turkey. He may not speak much in team chats, but he is a very active member.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The media relations arm of International Strategies has truly been a force to be reckoned with. Brandon Solomon deserves much of the credit for the success of this branch. Our efforts mean nothing if they are not noticed by news outlets. He has been hard at work posting our cause to all who will hear, and has been a true leader in our fight.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Jonathan Husar, the artist behind the Thai profile picture, is quick to provide general assistance to our cause, and his determination is second to none.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Raven DX is a fairly new member of the team but has already been hard at work. He originally wrote our latest letter to Japan.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The remaining members of media relations, HandlebarOrion, Yuna Caskett, Greg Schutz, and Steven have been busy promoting our cause through various methods, including fliers and personal requests. These front lines activities are crucial to our movement to succeed. Every one of you has been extremely influential.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I.S. also has some members in special positions that need credit. MB X McClain was our breakthrough member in our efforts to Japan. He connected the International Strategies Team to Suzukaze, was an early leader in our website development, and is constantly pointing out ways in which we could improve our efforts.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Partnering in our programming efforts is Cefca Palazzo. Embarrassingly I admit that I thought it was a real name, but you may be smart enough to catch the Final Fantasy reference.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Patrick Miller came to our team with an ambitious plan to advertise ourselves through Minecraft. While unfortunately we have not been able to provide him the resources he needs for project completion in a timely matter, the effort is still in the pipeline.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Gene Spooner played an early role in the development of our profile cards you see on the blogspot of our movement.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Ryan King deserves a major thanks for being the only person to have come forward with G4 footage of Morgan Sessler bashing our movement. While it was criticism, it helps in keeping us relevant.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Our International Spokespersons Score and Hope have my gratitude for being brave enough in speaking on behalf of our team. It takes real courage and skill to be able to represent a large group of people on camera.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Last but not least is a person whose profile name is Megaman Trigger. He was an early member who played a large role in I.S. expansion.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Together we aim to disprove the perception that Megaman Legends 3 does not have a large enough audience to justify development. The paid professionals at Capcom failed us, but if there is one thing we have already proven, it is that Legends Never Die in the hearts of the fans. This campaign was not created to be a one month push. This fan lead movement came about to save our hero at all costs, and we will not leave empty handed. To that end, I personally promise you that we will never give up.The Twitter Guyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08511212368938393293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1664163288204370141.post-25359384729542753652011-09-06T00:55:00.002-04:002011-09-06T00:55:52.802-04:00Roll's Wrap-Up 8/22-24: Bringing Our Support TogetherMatt here. Okay, so we still have a significant elephant in the room, which, of course, is the strange Capcom-Unity post mentioned in the last wrap-up . The post and the user account that posted it have since been removed. With all this in mind, we should just forget about this anomaly. We have very little reliable evidence about the post's integrity, and the matter is not worth pursuing, unless something more concrete were to surface.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Instead, I turn you over to our International Strategies team, who offer us some more useful information:<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
o There is good news to report out of International Strategies! We have made contact with the administrator of One_More_Dash and we are collaborating with him to raise the morale of the Japanese fanbase. Our defined end goal is to team up with the entire Japanese fanbase on Facebook and in the North American Devroom!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
o I would like to take a moment to thank all those who have assisted us in our communications to Japan thus far. I personally guarantee you that our efforts are making a difference! I would also like to report that the International Team is nearing completion on some high priority projects. We have recently released a commerical on youtube highlighting our main event tomorrow. Rest assured that this fight is not over until Capcom of Japan says its over (which they have not!). Thank you all for your continued support and from all those at international strategies we promise to continue the good fight to save our hero!!!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Our union with the Japanese fanbase seems to be coming along nicely. Remember to follow One_More_Dash on Twitter.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
On a slightly unrelated note, one of our members recently sent a suggestion to rockvolnutt@ymail.com (which you are all invited to contact) that would show support in a more concrete manner:<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Buy as much Megaman merch that we can from Capcom's own online store.<br />
<br />
http://shop.capcom.com/store/capcomus/list/categoryID.3954400/mega-man.html<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
There's also the budget dual-pack release of the PSP games coming out soon, which I'm sure you guys are aware of. Also, there's digital downloads, which are nice, but I think the more stuff we buy from them directly will help more.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Also, I wanted to say it'd also be great to try and buy Rockman swag from Capcom Japan, but I'm guessing they don't ship internationally; I tried registering and was hit with needing a local zipcode. If there's a way though, you guys could try and find out a way over the language barrier. Here's the link, just for convenience.<br />
<br />
http://www.e-capcom.com/ec/srDispCategoryTreeLink/doSearchCategory/11700000000/0/2/1<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
If not, we could always try to nab up as many of these as we can!<br />
<br />

This is only a suggestion, and spending money is a definite way to show support, but understandably, some of us are a little bit unwilling to shell out cash on items other than the game that we're trying to revive, especially in tough economic times. Still, the idea bears mentioning.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Remember, we still need more Servbots! Also, don't forget to join the general Mega Man and Mega Man Legends groups and sign the Capcom-Unity Petition. Lastly, don't forget about the International Servbot Collaboration project.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Regardless of all else, we all, worldwide, need to keep showing our support. Legends Never Die.The Twitter Guyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08511212368938393293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1664163288204370141.post-61791702121129898562011-08-23T13:03:00.001-04:002011-08-23T13:03:19.408-04:00Roll's Wrap-up 8/19-21: The Compendium of Twofold MysteriesToday, Matt is presenting to you a very special edition of Roll's Wrap-up. The Legends 3 revival effort has been shaken up quite a bit today by a mysterious post on Capcom-Unity by someone known only as "Roll." For those who don't feel like following the link, here's the post below:<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
"Hi guys! I have an announcement to make.<br />
<br />
Last Monday, I just had a discussion with the CAPCOM Staffs here about MML3, they say they "might" be selling out Megaman Legends : Prototype Ver. in Nintendo 3DS eshop. You can have it for just $2 USD, or 200 Yen. <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I got the game in my Nintendo 3DS already, because I am a member after all. By the way, is MML3: Prototype Ver. really gonna come on Nintendo eshop? Drop your comment below & let me know what you think! Over~!!"<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The biggest question on everyone's minds is, of course, whether or not this post is real. The simple answer is that there is really no way to tell, but allow me to point a few things out. First of all, this account was most like NOT just created recently for the purpose of trolling. I say this because of 285 Lifetime Points registered to the account. Such a number would not have been gathered in just a few hours or days. However the account was created in 2011, according to its profile. Furthermore someone able to talk to Capcom employees personally enough to acquire the prototype would likely have become a member much sooner. With these observations in mind, we can draw one of two conclusions:<br />
<br />
1. It's fake, likely a Unity member who altered his/her name and profile.<br />
<br />
2. It's real, likely a Capcom employee using a dummy account.<br />
<br />
My logic here is by no means flawless, but this is my best attempt to make sense of this strange turn of events. The best thing that I can advise is to take the news with a tremendous grain of salt.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
This news is not the only mystery that we have encountered, however. Today, Mikael, a member of our Facebook page, posted this both on our wall and on Capcom-Unity (I have been unable to locate the Unity thread, if anyone can provide it, that would be appreciated):<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
" Post by me rising an objection to Legends not being able to be distributed digitally.<br />

<br />
OBJECTION!!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Do I really have to post on this issue again?<br />
<br />
The redistribution issue due to liscensing can only be ruled down to one of two things...<br />
<br />
Either A. Capcom is lying to us.<br />
<br />
or B. Capcom has done something illegal/irresponsible.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Now I know what you're thinking...<br />
<br />
These are bold accusations.<br />
<br />
What evidence do I have to prove this claim?<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Are you aware that Mega Man Legends has been available for PC for the longest time? You probably did. Did you know the game has also been available for Downloadable distribution for the longest time?<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Here is my first piece of evidence.<br />
<br />
http://download.cnet.com/Mega-Man-Legends/3000-2099_4-10233736.html<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
As you can see, nothing big. It's just a free trial. It doesn't seem you can purchase it from the looks of it. However the game here has comments from at least as early as 2007. Now this was around the time that Capcom's "port claim" started cracking only ever so slightly. Seeing as how they made port collection, Nippon Ichi pretty much brought over Disgaea with little new content, and Gurumin came in which was a complete direct PC port. Now, I'm not sure what their arguement was at the time but I know people were starting to talk about PSClassic ports, and the question of digital distribution came up.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Okay, so what about now? Surely maybe the rights just ran out a while ago? Capcom makes it seem like this happened a few years back and they just forgot to keep tabs on something. Yet they're buddy buddy enough to keep up with Tron's VA? That should have been the next red flag.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Back on the topic of Downloadable distribution... the whole problem surfaced this year around 2 days after THIS THREAD<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
http://mmls.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=talkmml1&action=display&thread=4340<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
popped up with THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
http://www.siliconera.com/2011/05/20/mega-man-legends-will-not-be-showing-up-on-the-playstation-network/<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Now, Quite a few people who were paying attention know it was available for Digital distribution for a while and well into this year, but since it's not available on Gamestop, it kinda makes us look like a bunch of monkeys throwing around proverbial accusations on instances we can only fully confirm with a complete instance of the wayback machine.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
However a good Doctor of mine, who always knows his PC games, provided a link to the kicker here.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
http://www.trygames.com/game/aff=trygames/vid=618432b4f8e88b887b5dac14f2ccaca4<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
This game is still available...<br />
<br />
For download distribution sale...<br />
<br />
For who knows how many years...<br />
<br />
And Capcom has not been sued ONCE.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Can we please get some real answers for once? The more I look into it the less it makes sense. Are you trying to cover your bases or are you just too lazy to look into it or do you just not want to rewrap up a game a lot of people want to play?"<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
While this news has nothing to do with Legends 3, it does bring to light a colossal mystery with regard to Capcom's reasoning for not re-releasing Legends 1 and 2 on PSN. In short, we have all too many unanswered questions<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Now that these mysteries are out of the way, remember the continued efforts of the International Servbot Collaboration. Remember that you don't need to be an artist to participate. Furthermore, if you're on Twitter, remember to follow One_More_Dash to show our Japanese allies that we mean business.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
And foremost, join the Devroom and become a Servbot if you haven't already! Then sign the Capcom-Unity Petition.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
If you have any suggestions for the movement, you may send them to rockvolnutt@ymail.com.<br />

Rather, I submit to you a statement by our international strategies team:</photo>
<br />
<br />"As you all know, the Japanese Devroom was shut down just now. Nonetheless, we can still win and we will continue to fight! International Strategies has been hard at work trying to get our friends from Japan to team up with us on Facebook and in the Devroom. Unfortunately we have not succeeded yet. Our efforts have included creating <a href="http://gmotm.com">gmotm.com </a>, subtitling <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiofLnWKc8Y">Waiting for Legends 3</a> and posting it on <a href="http://t.co/L00TVZu">Nico Nico</a>, and creating a new website called <a href="http://jp-na-devroom.com">jp-na-devroom.com</a> to serve as a dedicated hub to Japan similar to <a href="http://legends3.com">legends3.com</a>.
<br />
<br />"In order to win this fight, I humbly request your assistance.
<br />
<br />"Our challenge to team up with Japan can be summed up by this conversation with Suzukaze:
<br />
<br />Jake: How does North America reach out to Japan?
<br />
<br />ゆ: Through twitter, <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/One_More_Dash">OneMoreDASH</a> catch a lot of people's eyes.
<br />
<br />Jake: will OneMoreDASH help [GetMeOffTheMoon]?
<br />
<br />ゆ: Because Amunshen contacts the manager of OneMoreDASH well, I think that speaking with her is the best option. The manager of OneMoreDASH however is apathetic toward English speakers, and doesn't participate in GetMeoffTheMoon. I think that he is negligent if he only believes domestic support matters
<br />
<br />Jake: How do we appeal to him?
<br />
<br />ゆ: There is no fundamental solution because he doesn't want to register on Facebook with his real name.
<br />
<br />Jake: Real name registration is not necessary.
<br />
<br />ゆ: Yes, I am writing that in the Facebook explanation for the Japan-U.S. development room at www.jp-na-devroom.com/facebook.php. However, the greater part of the Japanese fans have misunderstood it.
<br />
<br />Jake: If Roll's Wrap-up asks 人 to follow One_More_DASH, will that help?
<br />
<br />ゆ: It might be effective.
<br />
<br />Jake: Are DASH fans " antismoking [shite] as for English " like OneMoreDASH?
<br />
<br />ゆ: Basically, there are many who are resistant to English culture.
<br />
<br />Jake: I understand. Do average DASH fans share the same belief?
<br />
<br />ゆ: There are 1700 members of OneMoreDASH now. It is not a lot, considering the development room in Japan was more than 10000. It is thought that it is about 400~500 people that participate even if a lot of them are from GetMeOffTheMoon.
<br />
<br />Jake: Why is the number so low? What can we do to reach out?
<br />
<br />ゆ: Regretfully, many of the Japanese fans have already given up.
<br />
<br />Jake: In your opinion, can anything change this?
<br />
<br />ゆ: Advertising the JP-NAdevroom is necessary to recover their morale.
<br />
<br />Jake: if our video is good, will it help?
<br />
<br />ゆ: It is important to raise awareness for JP-Na-Devroom.com from the video now. A lot of people in Japan do not know about the 42000 person gathering in Facebook. It is sure to be connected with the best great result to know our site.
<br />
<br />"Yes fellow MML3 fans, One_More_DASH does not support us yet. We need his help to advertise our cause in Japan! I understand that there is a language barrier, but please follow One_More_DASH on twitter to get him on our side! That is the first step towards teaming up with the Japanese fanbase. The second step is to promote the Japanese subtitled version of Waiting for Legends 3 on <a href="http://t.co/L00TVZu">Nico Nico</a> by tweeting this message on your twitter account:
<br />
<br />@suzukaze_dash: 私たちは10年後の今も、ロックマンDASH3を待ち続けている (5:14) #nicovideo #sm15346699 http://t.co/L00TVZu #dash3 #rockman
<br />
<br />"Please tweet this in Japanese. Here's what it means in English: @suzukaze_dash: 10 years of waiting for Legends 3 (5:14) #nicovideo #sm15346699 http://t.co/L00TVZu #dash3 #rockman
<br />
<br />"The video includes promotional messages for jp-na-devroom.com, which links to 100,000 Strong.
<br />
<br />"Now on to our International Strategies video. It is a worldwide request to Japan to help us on facebook and in the Devroom. We are working very hard on it (see the picture below)! As you can see, we fight together, for Mega Man Legends 3! We hope to release it within the next two days so please be on the lookout.
<br />
<br />"We sincerely believe we can win this fight! Keep spreading the word and stay positive!"
<br />
<br />You heard them folks. @One_More_Dash needs more support. <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/One_More_Dash">If you're on Twitter, then count yourself among their followers </a>. If the Japanese see that we're involved and that we're serious, then they are more likely to come around. Making the above tweet will also help to promote our cause.
<br />
<br />You can also keep an eye on the <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/BringBackMML3">International Strategies YouTube Channel</a> where Dashe's video has already been translated into Spanish and Maltese.
<br />
<br />In other news, I'm sure most of you are aware that now, as of August 19, 2011, the Japan Devroom is now closed. However, thanks to a few fans, we can hope that its contents haven't been lost forever. Check out <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/devroom/go/thread/view/114725/28192553/Archiving_The_DASH3_Site">this thread in the Western Devroom</a> for the continued effort to archive and this <a href="http://mmls.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=talkmml3&thread=4702">comprehensive set of downloads</a> if you would like any of the saved assets from the Japan Devroom.
<br />
<br />The Western Devroom is still open, although we don't know how much longer this will be the case. Several people have made the suggestion of possibly getting the Japanese Servbots to join our Devroom now that theirs is gone, but the effort will be wasted unless we follow the strategies that our international team has put forth. Furthermore, our own local effort shouldn't stop. <a href="http://getmeoffthemoon.blogspot.com/2011/07/become-servbot.html">If you have not already joined the Devroom and registered a Servbot number, please do so!</a> If you know anyone else who hasn't registered a number either, then please tell them to get one as well. This is our best shot at accomplishing our goal, so we need to keep at it! Also don't forget about the <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/devroom/go/thread/view/114725/28033281/SIGN_HERE_TO_SUPPORT_MML3!!!_CAPCOM_KEEP_YOUR_PROMISE"> Capcom-Unity petition</a> and <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/mmlegends">the general Mega Man Legends group</a>. Becoming part of these can greatly help as well.
<br />
<br />Before I go, I would just like to leave all of you with the following image that shows exactly how international this movement has become. All we need to do now is show our friends in Japan that we're all fighting for the same thing. While the phrase Legends Never Die has little meaning in a land that calls the series Rockman DASH, we can still show them our determination because we're all fighting for the same thing, no matter the language.

Tonight we've got a few announcements.
<br />
<br />First, <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWun5ikum2Q">the video of G4 that I.S. subbed</a> made it on <a href="http://www.gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=159026">GoNintendo</a> and <a href="http://nintendo3dsblog.com/g4-bashes-the-mega-man-legends-3-fan-movement">Nintendo 3DS Blog</a> (as well as in <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1Tusb3eb6k">this video</a>)! This video is part of a larger movement to raise awareness. Let's spread the message worldwide that there is a fanbase waiting for this game, and that we are rallying for this cause! In addition, I.S. is making a video that represents what they're all about. It should be out soon, so keep your eyes on <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/BringBackMML3">their Youtube Channel</a>!
<br />
<br />I know that a lot of people were offended by X-Play's comments, but we need to stay civil. Please try not to badmouth the show or the cast, despite your opinions. Looking at some of the comments on the Youtube video, I see that plenty of us are angry at G4. It does NOT mean that we should be so harsh. We've also been getting a few trolls recently. The best course of action there is to just ignore them. We need to stay classy. This is VERY important to our cause!
<br />
<br />Remember to <a href="http://getmeoffthemoon.blogspot.com/2011/07/become-servbot.html">join the devroom and become servbots</a>! This is our primary campaign right now. You can<a href="http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=149365408471042"> post your servbot number here</a> when you're done!
<br />
<br />Want to get more involved? Here's a list of campaigns that have been set up so far. We're working with the ideas you've sent to us so far. Keep sending us ideas at rockvolnutt@ymail.com with CAMPAIGN in the subject!
<br />
<br />One of them is the <a href="http://protodudesrockmancorner.blogspot.com/2011/07/legends-never-die-campaign-kicks-off.html">Legends Never Die snail-mail campaign</a>! While the target date has passed, I'm pretty sure that sending more mail to Capcom wouldn't hurt our chances. To everyone who has already sent in mail: thank you!
<br />
<br />The <a href="http://www.themmnetwork.com/2011/07/29/tanomi-com-guide-for-rockman-dash-3-support/">Tanomi.com campaign</a> is also a good way to show your support! In a similar vein, you could <a href="http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B004P5OYEE/ref=cm_sw_r_fa_alp_2jOoob0XNSPMJ">like Mega Man Legends 3 on Amazon.com</a> (click the yellow button on the right side of the page). Similar movements have worked in the past, so look into this when you get the time!
<br />
<br />Then there's the "Shut Up and Take My Zenny!" campaign! You can <a href="http://getmeoffthemoon.blogspot.com/p/currentupcoming-campaigns.html">read about it on the campaign page of the blog</a>.
<br />
<br />There's also the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=159747224099527">International Servbot Collaboration</a>! You don't need to be an artist to join in this campaign, but being a servbot helps!
<br />
<br />You can also <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/devroom/go/thread/view/114725/28033281/SIGN_HERE_TO_SUPPORT_MML3!!!_CAPCOM_KEEP_YOUR_PROMISE">sign the only Capcom-recognized petition</a> for the game. Make sure you do this after becoming a servbot!
<br />
<br />Don't forget spreading flyers around! <a href="https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.160517877355795.38414.149316248475958">There are several here that you can use</a>, so this gives you another option for spreading the word around! Print some of these out and distribute them around town (but be sure to ask the appropriate people if it's ok first)!
<br />
<br />Lastly, you can email other news sites or groups and ask for their support. There are plenty of Mega Man cover bands, so if you happen to see any of them in concert then you might be able to ask them! We already have the support of <a href="https://www.facebook.com/armcannon">ArmCannon</a>, so thank them! Let's work to put ourselves in the spotlight (but not for the wrong reasons). Spread the word!
<br />
<br />This is what we're fighting for! Legends never die!Davidhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16216693528555908166noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1664163288204370141.post-18855224018654700052011-08-14T21:44:00.002-04:002011-08-14T21:45:00.421-04:00Roll's Wrap-Up: 08/14/11Hi everyone, David here. Today's Wrap-Up comes early, but there are announcements to be made!</photo>
<br />
<br />Posted in yesterday's Wrap-Up, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/GetMeOffTheMoonStrategies">The I.S. Team</a> has been hard at work translating/creating videos lately. I'm reporting that <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/BringBackMML3">the I.S. team has made a Youtube Channel</a> for videos!
<br />
<br />Their head, Jake Hans, has this to say:
<br />
<br />"Recently <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWun5ikum2Q">G4 made a statement on their TV show X-Play</a> declaring that no one was awaiting the return of Megaman Trigger/Rockman DASH. Their remark did not go unheard by GetMeOffTheMoon International Strategies. Our own member <a href="http://www.youtube.com/thatdashekid">Dashe Troxon</a>, the creator of <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiofLnWKc8Y">“Waiting for Legends 3: A Tribute”</a> is the ultimate example to disprove the claims of G4. Her artwork is a reflection of the feelings many Megaman Legends/Rockman DASH fans have. To prove that there were people worldwide waiting for this game, International Strategies Liaisons have been subtitling her video in every language possible. <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=am4GPWxIgjk">The Japanese version of the song</a> will soon be posted on <a href="<span>http://www.nicovideo.jp/</span>">Nico Nico</a> which is the Japanese version of youtube. Our video will include a message that if they feel the way Dashe does for the return of Megaman Legends 3 to come join facebook and become a servbot in the American devroom.
<br />
<br />The response to <a href="https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=159747224099527">the International Servbot Collaboration</a> has been outstanding! Please keep it up! <a href=" https://twitter.com/#!/One_More_Dash">The admin of One_More_DASH</a> thanks all of you for your support. The International Strategies video will need a little more time to complete. Thank you for your patience. We are working hard all over the world for the return of Rockman DASH, and the quality of our work will reflect that. If you have participated in any of the petitions, please post on the International Strategies page to join them. Speaking another language is not required. We have major projects in the works and any help is welcome!"
<br />
<br />The video has been subtitled in Japanese, Italian, Portuguese (Portugal) and Dutch so far, with Maltese, German, French and Arabic versions in the works. They're putting the finishing touches on the Spanish version right now. Keep it up, I.S. Team! Don't forget to subscribe to them! In addition, each subtitled video will be posted to its respective GMoTM International page so keep your eyes open for them!
<br />
<br />Don't forget to <a href="http://getmeoffthemoon.blogspot.com/2011/07/become-servbot.html">join the Devroom and become Servbots</a>, though! We've been pushing a LOT of different campaigns, but the Servbot push is still the most important one! After that, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=149365408471042">you can post your servbot number here</a> or <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/devroom/go/thread/view/114725/28033281/SIGN_HERE_TO_SUPPORT_MML3!!!_CAPCOM_KEEP_YOUR_PROMISE">sign the only Capcom-recognized petition for MML3</a>!
<br />
<br />After that, you can participate in any of the petitions mentioned above or <a href="http://getmeoffthemoon.blogspot.com/p/currentupcoming-campaigns.html">on the blog</a> to show more of your support! Got more ideas? Please send them to us at rockvolnutt@ymail.com (add CAMPAIGN to the subject bar if they are possible campaign ideas)! We can't do this without you!
<br />
<br />That's all for now. Let's show the world what we're fighting for! Legends never die!Davidhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16216693528555908166noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1664163288204370141.post-23415135273255919442011-08-14T03:23:00.002-04:002011-08-14T03:25:35.227-04:00Roll's Wrap-Up: 08/12-13/11Hi everyone, David here. <br />
<br />We've got another mention, people! Thanks for helping spread the word, <a href="http://www.duelinganalogs.com/comic/oh-the-games-you-wont-play/#more-2127">Dueling Analogs</a>!
<br />
<br />If you've checked <a href="http://getmeoffthemoon.blogspot.com">the blog</a> recently, you may have noticed a new tab: <a href="http://getmeoffthemoon.blogspot.com/p/team-japan.html">Team Japan</a>. This section is under construction right now, but it will hopefully serve to strengthen the bridge between us (the North American audience) and our friends in Japan! Some of the folks from <a href="https://www.facebook.com/GetMeOffTheMoonStrategies">the I.S. Team</a> will be posting there, so keep your eyes open!
<br />
<br />Speaking of I.S., <a href="https://www.facebook.com/GetMeOffTheMoonJapan">their Japan branch</a> is working on a video right now. It will be released by 9 P.M. EST 8/14/11. That's not all though: the rest of the I.S. team Liaisons are working on translating a custom video in their own respective language! That's pretty ambitious, so cheer them on!
<br />
<br />That's it for current events! <a href="http://getmeoffthemoon.blogspot.com/2011/07/become-servbot.html">Remember to become a servbot after you join the Devroom</a> if you haven't already! When you do, you can <a href="http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=149365408471042">post your servbot number here</a>!
<br />
<br />Don't forget about the campaigns going on right now, either! The <a href="https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=159747224099527">International Servbot Collaboration</a> effort is moving along pretty nicely, but we need more people to post their own servbots! You don't have to be an artist to do it: a template is provided in case you can't draw (like myself), so go have fun with it!
<br />
<br /><a href="http://www.themmnetwork.com/2011/07/29/tanomi-com-guide-for-rockman-dash-3-support/">The Tanomi.com Campaign</a> is another great campaign to get behind! All of the details are included in the link. I'm absolutely sure that we can't POSSIBLY have enough people requesting MML3 on Tanomi.com, so get in there and show them that you want this game! Make some noise, people! Don't forget to stay civil, though!
<br />
<br />Those are just two of the campaigns we have going right now! You can <a href="http://getmeoffthemoon.blogspot.com/p/currentupcoming-campaigns.html">check the blog</a> for even more! Have an idea you want to share? Send an email with CAMPAIGN in the subject to rockvolnutt@ymail.com to let us know about it!
<br />
<br />And that's the Wrap-Up! Keep spreading the word about us, we can't do this without you all! Legends never die!Davidhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16216693528555908166noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1664163288204370141.post-73556406839149484172011-08-06T23:28:00.005-04:002011-08-06T23:28:56.154-04:00Roll's Wrap-Up: 08/04/11<photo id=1>Hey everyone, David here. I've got a big community post for tonight.</photo><br />
<br />
<a href="http://getmeoffthemoon.com">Getmeoffthemoon.com has launched!</a> <a href="http://www.facebook.com/GetMeOffTheMoonStrategies">International Strategies</a> has been hard at work getting this site up and running (The site looks great!), so show them your support by signing up and submitting fan art! Alternate addresses for the page are <a href="http://gmotm.com">http://gmotm.com</a> and <a href="http://dash-and-mml.com">http://dash-and-mml.com</a>. They all link to the same place. Now the international movement can REALLY push forward!<br />
<br />
This doesn't diminish the importance of <a href="http://getmeoffthemoon.blogspot.com/2011/07/become-servbot.html">becoming a servbot</a> however. We still need more support there! Join the ranks! You may not like Capcom after what they've done, but <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/devroom/go/thread/view/114725/28033281/SIGN_HERE_TO_SUPPORT_MML3!!!_CAPCOM_KEEP_YOUR_PROMISE!!!?pg=1">the best shot you have to get them to hear you is by posting on the Capcom-unity forums</a>! It's going to take more than just a "Like" on Facebook to get Mega Man back to Earth!<br />
<br />
In addition, we need more media coverage. We can't let this go quietly. In a recent email, we've gotten a suggestion to email a couple of other sources. One of them is <a href="http://consumerist.com/">the Consumerist</a> and the other is <a href="http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/">The Official Nintendo Magazine from the UK</a>. These both seem like solid suggestions. Don't spam them, but more emails asking them to cover us wouldn't hurt (and PLEASE remember to stay civil). If any of you have more suggestions, please send us an email at rockvolnutt@ymail.com!<br />
<br />
That about does it for this Wrap-Up! Please remember (and it bears repeating) to keep things civil! We must treat others with respect if we want their help, and we cannot do this alone! Let's get him off the moon together! Legends never die!<br />
<photo id=1></photo>The Twitter Guyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08511212368938393293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1664163288204370141.post-34907378550789379482011-08-06T23:28:00.002-04:002011-08-06T23:28:15.267-04:00Roll's Wrap-Up: 08/03/11Hey everyone, David here. Tonight we need to talk about news and community related information.</photo><br />
<br />
First up: there is a poll on <a href="http://www.1up.com">1up's home page</a> asking for which games we want resurrected. Mega Man Legends 3 is one of those choices, so get in there and vote for it! Secondly, there is a Mega Man Volnutt bobble head that is in consideration for production. <a href="http://www.bobblebudds.com/?pagetype=Concept&selection=48">You can vote for it here.</a> Finally, many people have been posting <a href="http://wii.ign.com/articles/118/1185669p1.html"> the IGN article mentioning the Mega Man series</a> written by <a href="http://people.ign.com/aminka">Audrey Drake</a>. People have already contacted her about looking into this group, and she's already commented on the matter. Please try not to flood her page.<br />
<br />
In community related news, we have the <a href="http://dic.pixiv.net/a/%E3%83%AD%E3%83%83%E3%82%AF%E3%83%9E%E3%83%B3DASH">Silent Protest going on at pixiv.net</a>, run by our friends in Japan. Let's show them that we're fighting for the same cause!<br />
<br />
Now I have a different message to convey, however. It's great that everyone is getting so involved in this cause, however things are getting very complicated. There's the facebook page, the blog, the international groups, the mail-in campaign, the devroom and servbot numbers...there's a lot going on at once. So, let's clarify:<br />
<br />
Priority one right now is to <a href="http://getmeoffthemoon.blogspot.com/2011/07/become-servbot.html">get more servbots and support the devroom.</a> We can have over a million likes on the facebook page, but if we only had 1000 servbots in the devroom then we wouldn't get so much as a glance from Capcom. WE NEED MORE SERVBOTS, PEOPLE! LET'S GET TO IT!<br />
<br />
Close behind that is to <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/devroom/go/thread/view/114725/28033281/SIGN_HERE_TO_SUPPORT_MML3!!!_CAPCOM_KEEP_YOUR_PROMISE">sign the ONLY Capcom-recognized petition for Mega Man Legends 3</a>. There are a lot of petitions floating around, but the one listed here is on Capcom's blog and is MUCH more likely to be seen by the company because of it.<br />
<br />
This is where priorities start to even out. You could support 100K and <a href="http://www.facebook.com/GetMeOffTheMoonStrategies">the whole GetMeOffTheMoon team</a> (or any other GetMeOffTheMoon page featured on ours: we're supporting each other). We have to make it clear that <a href="http://getmeoffthemoon.com">getmeoffthemoon.com</a> is a project that International Strategies is working on, not an independent one. That being said, there are some pages that seem to splinter off of ours. The enthusiasm is nice, but we need to stay focused in one place. A lot of events and such are listed on <a href="http://getmeoffthemoon.blogspot.com/"> the 100,000 Strong blog</a>. You can even catch up on past Wrap-Ups and advice there, so it's not a bad idea to keep the blog in mind. Don't forget <a href="http://twitter.com/getmeoffthemoon"">our Twitter</a>, too!<br />
<br />
If you feel like taking a more active role for the cause, you can participate in <a href="http://getmeoffthemoon.blogspot.com/p/currentupcoming-campaigns.html">any of the campaigns listed here</a>. These are all supported by us and this list is updated as new campaigns get sent to us. If you have an idea for a campaign, PLEASE send it in an email to us at rockvolnutt@ymail.com with CAMPAIGN in the title! We're getting lots of ideas from you all so far, and we here assure you that ALL of them are being read. Thanks for all the input you have to offer.<br />
<br />
In addition, you can email any news sources you can think of to take a look at us, but make sure that the sources you pick would see us as relevant! We're not very likely to show up on a national talk show, but we've got a much better shot of getting noticed by members of the video game press. Remember to stay civil, though! You may be angry and/or frustrated, but we need to make a good impression on others! We're not a rabid fanbase: we are angry for a good reason so we have to treat this with a manner of professionalism. We need to actively seek out news sources but we CANNOT spam.<br />
<br />
Yes, this is a LOT of stuff to do and it may be a little overwhelming, but that is because we are serious about this cause. We also need to stick together to keep moving! Thank you all for the support you have given us so far, but we're not even close to done yet. We don't want this game to flicker out of existence and we are going to do whatever it takes to get Mega Man off of the moon! This is what we're fighting for! <u>Legends never die!</u>The Twitter Guyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08511212368938393293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1664163288204370141.post-85934150386692560022011-08-06T23:27:00.002-04:002011-08-06T23:27:22.499-04:00Roll's Wrap-Up: 08/02/11Hi everyone, David here. Not much happened in the news today, but there are some more community updates to talk about! We've got more details concerning <a href="http://getmeoffthemoon.com/">our website</a>. In regards to that, Jake Hans from <a href="http://www.facebook.com/GetMeOffTheMoonStrategies">International Strategies</a> says:</photo><br />
<br />
"100,000 strong,<br />
<br />
After consulting with our liaisons around the world, it became apparent that our original global campaign site called getmeoffthemoon.com is not going to work because of the name. In Japan, fans of Rockman Dash consider Volnutt to have been left in Heaven. Getmeoffthemoon is not a common phrase in Japan, which makes it unattractive.<br />
<br />
So, we have named the site dash-and-mml.com to represent our worldwide fanbase.<br />
<br />
We realized what all the fanbases around the world had in common was a love for making fan art. In fact, our friends from Japan are doing a "silent" protest for MML3 by submitting their own fan art on pixiv. International Strategies sees this as our opportunity to link the fanbases together.<br />
<br />
dash-and-mml.com will be able to accept fan art with minimal registration and easy translation to all languages. We will have links on the site instructing non-English speakers how to get on facebook and join 100,000 strong. IF YOU HAVE A CAMPAIGN YOU WANT FEATURED IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE ON THE SITE, PLEASE SEND IT TO US (PREFERABLY IN .HTML). The goals of the site are to link the fan base together and receive 50,000 unique images by August 19th as another way to indicate to Capcom that there is strong fan interest for Mega Man Legends 3. So, fellow Legends fans, please get your fan art ready! Let's show our friends in Japan and around the world that we are serious about saving our hero!<br />
<br />
The site will launch 8/4/2011 at 10pm Eastern Standard Time. I want to make it clear that there will be no ads or requests for donations. dash-and-mml.com was built for the fans, by the fans!<br />
<br />
Legends Never Die!"<br />
<br />
You can send campaigns their way as well by emailing runner97401@gmail.com, but remember to send us campaign ideas too at rockvolnutt@ymail.com (and remember to put CAMPAIGN in the subject). In addition, you can access <a href="http://getmeoffthemoon.com"> http://getmeoffthemoon.com</a> in three ways! There's the full address, a short version at <a href=" http://gmotm.com">http://gtmom.com</a> and the one mentioned above at <a href="http://dash-and-mml.com">http://dash-and-mml.com</a>. Dash-and-mml.com isn't linked to the main host yet, but launch will be at 10 p.m. EST on Thursday so have your fan art ready! Thanks to Suzukaze for suggesting the new link and <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/Amunshen">Amunshen</a> for the assist!<br />
<br />
That about does it for today. Not too much happening, but please keep <a href="http://getmeoffthemoon.blogspot.com/2011/07/become-servbot.html"> spreading the word to get more servbots</a>! This is still as important as ever, so let's get more numbers! Don't let those news articles discourage us in the least: we need to keep pressing forward with the cause! With that, I'll leave you with some of the efforts that the International team has put forward. There's a picture attached to the bottom of this note that you all can download. In addition, we have translations for "Let's get him off the moon together!" in multiple languages! Thanks to:<br />
<br />
Samuele Voltan for the Italian translation: "Portiamolo via dalla Luna insieme!"<br />
<br />
Mako Shiruba for the Spanish translation: "¡Vamos a bajarlo de la Luna juntos!"<br />
<br />
Jake Hans and Bruno for the Portuguese (Portugal) translation: "Deixem-me sair da lua"<br />
<br />
Jake Hans and Ghun for the Thai translation: "เอาเค้าลงมาจากดวงจันทร์กันเถอะ"<br />
<br />
Julien Machiels for the French translation: Faisons le descendre de la lune ensemble<br />
<br />
Steve Unfred for the Japanese translation: ”一緒に月から連れて帰りましょう!”<br />
<br />
Let's get Mega Man off the moon together! Keep spreading the word! Legends never die!The Twitter Guyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08511212368938393293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1664163288204370141.post-14549241282088707822011-08-02T08:10:00.001-04:002011-08-02T08:10:27.373-04:00Roll's Wrap-Up 8/1/2011Matt here. Today has been an interesting day indeed. I suppose the biggest news today would be the mention of us in <a href="http://kotaku.com/5826723/capcom-quashes-hopes-of-mega-man-legends-3s-return">this article on Kotaku</a> stating that Capcom is aware of our movement but has no plans of bringing back Legends 3. So what does this article mean to us? To put it simply: absolutely nothing. Our International Strategies Translation Team went straight to <a href="http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000612606596">Suzukaze Yuya</a>, the leader of the MML3 movement in Japan, to discuss the matter. They came to this conclusion:</photo><br />
<br />
"Fellow MML3 friends, please do not let Capcom America's attempt to silence the fight to save our hero discourage us. Also, please make sure to thank Kotaku.com for that article. They have given us an indication that we are still relevant to major publications."<br />
<br />
If anything, Kotaku's article has provided us with more publicity and proven that we still matter to the gaming media. Furthermore, this was not news from Capcom's upper management but merely a prepared statement by a local representative. Our international liaison continues:<br />
<br />
"International Strategies believes our window to save the man on the moon is not yet closed. Over the past week, our Fanbase Liaisons and staff have been putting together a campaign named 'Bridge the Fanbase Together' for the purpose of reaching out to our friends in Japan as well as the entire international MML3 community. We are putting all of our resources behind this project. More specifics will be released tomorrow."<br />
<br />
As you can see, we have no reason to stop because, if anything, we're still getting started. You can view the full conversation between our international teams below.<br />
<br />
In other news, Servbot #011531, Trace Wysaske, has offered us a new idea:<br />
<br />
"As I was surfing the Capcom website today, I noticed that the Devroom is not the only Megaman Legends group on the company's official page. The Devroom has 14050 members at the time of this writing, but the actual Megaman Legends group only has 176 members. I was thinking that if people were encouraged to join the Megaman Legends group in addition to the Devroom on the Capcom website, perhaps it would make the Megaman Legends name seem even more popular and significant. To get in the top 16 groups on the Capcom site, the Megaman Legends group would need over 3,777 members. Doing so would knock out the Zack & Wiki group from the top 16. Since many of the people supporting ML3 have signed up for an account on Capcom in order to become a Servbot and member of the Devroom, it would only take one click for them to become a member of the Megaman Legends group. To me, it seems like having two Megaman Legends groups with thousands of members would increase visibility and show the utter popularity of the series' name to Capcom."<br />
<br />
We say that this idea is most certainly worth a try. <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/mmlegends">Find that page here.</a><br />
<br />
Next, the admins would like to apologize for various errors we've made both on this page and elsewhere. We have corrected most of them.<br />
<br />
Remember to keep alerting the gaming media about our cause. Also don't forget about the <a href="http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=100375196729112">Legends Never Die Mail-in Campaign</a> or the flyer campaign, which you can learn about <a href="http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=153230958084487">here</a>, <a href="http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=2033184987282&set=o.149316248475958&type=1">here</a>, and <a href="http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=666830594323&set=o.149316248475958&type=1">here</a>. Today I have some community-based updates for everybody. We're currently working on community relations. It's still preaching to the choir, however, that we all need to work together. What we NEED (which we haven't seen much of today) is media coverage. To remedy this, please CIVILLY submit the cause to gaming media. We need to look professional so don't spam, but a massive amount of mail from different people would get us noticed. Just PLEASE be civil. Remember to send us emails at rockvolnutt@ymail.com! They'll all be fully read by tomorrow.<br />
<br />
On the international side, our International Strategies group has been very busy. We now have a Dutch page! <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/GetMeOffTheMoon-Dutch/112161242216454">Check them out here!</a> As if that wasn't enough, they've contacted the leader of the Japanese MML3 movement and plans to bridge the gap between Japanese and North American efforts are forming. A transcript of the conversation is <a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ca0wBg2BDeQ1GD0eDx8PK25ov3lx648gCAg6j8S27is/edit?hl=en_US&pli=1">here</a>. This is a HUGE step forward for us, and I would like to thank Digital Media Coordinator MB X. McClain for setting this conversation up! Thanks go out to the entire International Strategies group as well! We can't do this without you!<br />
<br />
That's all for today's Wrap-Up. Things have slowed down in the media for now, but let's work to change that! Legends never die!The Twitter Guyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08511212368938393293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1664163288204370141.post-74641125698145299102011-07-30T21:52:00.002-04:002011-07-30T21:52:37.330-04:00Roll's Wrap-Up: 07/29-30/11 Stepping It UpHello guys, Scruffy here <a target="_blank" href="http://getmeoffthemoon.blogspot.com/p/about-us.html">(yes, as in TTG)</a> for your Wrap-Up. First of all, I want to talk about 2 new campaigns. Our friends at The Megaman Network have <a target="_blank" href="http://www.themmnetwork.com/2011/07/29/tanomi-com-guide-for-rockman-dash-3-support/">a great guide</a> about voicing yourselves on Tanomi.com. Tanomi.com is a website that allows people to request a desired product. Just follow the directions, and keep it civil as usual. The other camapign is one that we've been getting emails for a couple days now. It's called "Shut Up And Take My Zenny!", and those that watch <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EaHUpWuqNHY&t=0m25s">Futurama</a> need no explanation to what this campaign entails. All you have to do is take a picture of yourself or your friends with the money the game costs (40 USD or equivalent, depending on region). Be creative! Make a note, cosplay, or make a video, it doesn't matter as long as its creative and attention-grabbing. The more stuff we fo for the cause before <a target="_blank" href="http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=153873908020192">August 19th</a>, the better. Keep spreading the word about Servbots!</photo><br />
<br />
Something we mentioned briefly last night was <a target="_blank" href="http://getmeoffthemoon.com/">GetMeOffTheMoon.com</a> (which is being worked on over the weekend by International Strategies). Our Japanese Liasons agree that 100,000 strong will get more likes (likes are good, but they are not everything) if a website dedicated to Japan were created. Our friends from Japan create lots of fan art, so we will allow them to post fan art on this site as a petition to capcom. IS will also provide the links and instructions on how to join 100,000 strong. Although in Japanese, we encourage all fans to post fan art on this site once it is fully running. Our long term goal is to expand this site to accommodate the entire international community so together we can save our hero. In other words, we're doing this because we need to. International Strategies holds the key to our future success.<br />
<br />
SwiftSketcher of NeoGAF <a target="_blank" href="http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=29711024&postcount=3206">posted this earlier today.</a> I urge all of you to read his words.<br />
<br />
"The effort has hit it's first roadblock, and it's vital that whoever is at the lead organize the top reps in this effort and relentlessly pursue coverage in the bigger media outlets. Protodude is right with his tweet: "100K4MML3 has peeked. I'm telling you guys, you gotta branch out to the big boys @kotaku @gamespot @g4 @ect or else that's it." I feel if we stay in the mode of "spread this to your friends and random fansites" session we're currently in, we're in trouble."<br />
<br />
We absolutely agree. Though keep it civil is important, our voices must be heard, and the time of action is now. We've chosen this day to talk about it, because now we can say and prove that we have a community, and not just some guys with too much free time on thier hands or something only for North America. We have stepped up our game, and we're not stopping now. We have dedicated volunteers, we have dedicated friends and fans, and most importantly, we (all of us) have the drive to see this through. We are no scrambling mob, we will have our voice heard. I urge you all to spread the word on our updated efforts to your friends, your family, THE MEDIA (YES, THE MEDIA), the game shops you visit, the cons you attend, and absolutely anything and everything else. Show the world our cause! We are working so hard, but we can't do it alone.<br />
<br />
Our efforts are not in vain, so long as we stand by them. Our words are not void, so long as we take action. Well my friends, action has been taken and we stand by it. Voice the cause! You know what can and needs to be done, now do it and share it with the world. In the words of Doc Brown, we must succeed.<br />
<br />
Keep it up guys, this fight's only begun! Legends Never Die!The Twitter Guyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08511212368938393293noreply@blogger.com
